“RVW series” of drive units for AGV/AMR* sold by the Precision Equipment Company of Nabtesco Corporation (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Kazumasa Kimura) was recently decided to be adopted by Shimizu Corporation as a newly developed “Stage-Scaffold Movable Cart”.

Conventionally, scaffolds used at construction sites are assembled and disassembled each time the work site is changed, which is a very time-consuming and labor-intensive process. The “Stage-Scaffold Movable Cart,”  which supports a maximum load of three tons, can move freely within the work floor without needing disassembly, contributing greatly to labor savings and work time efficiency at construction sites where labor shortage and safety issues have been pointed out.

The “RVW Series” of AGV/AMR drive units that we provide for "Stage-Scaffold Movable Cart" are products with in-wheel structure in which high-precision, high-rigidity Precision Reduction Gears RV™ is placed inside the Mechanum Wheel**. The compact unit structure allows for effective use of internal space of AGV or AMR main unit, and easy installation by customers. In addition, the Mechanum system’s ability to move in all directions enables accurate positioning in the shortest possible time.

With this adoption, Nabtesco will expand its offerings of solutions utilizing its unique motion control technology and contribute to labor saving and efficiency improvement in the construction industry.
