a Heart to Heart

The High Heel Project, led by artist Mari Katayama, seeks to demonstrate the “freedom of choice” by creating prosthetics and high heels for the artist to wear and perform on stage. Launched in 2011, the project entered its second phase in 2022. Nabtesco Corporation, the manufacturer of the ALLUX^TM 2 microprocessor-controlled prosthetic knee and a supporter of Katayama’s philosophy and activities, signed onto the project in September 2022. For this collaboration, Katayama sat down with the people involved in creating the ALLUX^TM 2 for a heart-to-heart chat.
