Nabtesco’s Transport Equipment Business consists of three major fields. For railroad vehicles, Nabtesco primarily manufactures brake systems and door operators. For automobiles, the company mainly makes air brake systems and air driers for commercial vehicles. For ships, the company mainly manufactures engine control systems for large vessels.

In the business of railroad vehicles, Nabtesco primarily provides brake systems and door operators, for high-speed Shinkansen bullet trains, commuter trains and new forms of transportation systems within Japan, as well as to other countries in East Asia, where demand for railroad vehicles is buoyant.

In the automobile business, as a leading manufacturer of braking systems for commercial vehicles in Japan, Nabtesco provides various brake products and hydraulic clutch products. In order to live up to the industry’s great expectations for safety, Nabtesco has been undertaking business activities always with an eye toward the future. At present, Nabtesco’s shares of the domestic markets for air driers and brake chambers for commercial vehicles have each reached more than 70%.

In the ship business, Nabtesco has set up a worldwide network centering on its group companies for supplying marine engine remote-control systems and electronic digital governor systems. Nabtesco has the largest shares of the markets for remote-control systems for marine vessel engines both at home and abroad, grabbing about 55% and 35% respectively of the domestic and global markets.
